Hubei Second Normal University is a provincial-level regular undergraduate institution with teacher education as its characteristic, covering seven disciplines including humanities, science, education, economics, management, engineering, and law. It is one of the important bases for teacher education in Hubei. The predecessor of the school began in 1931 with the establishment of Hubei Provincial Education College. From 1944 to 1979, it was renamed as National Hubei Normal University, Hubei Provincial Education College, Hubei Normal College, and Hubei Provincial Teacher Training College. In May 1979, it was renamed as Hubei Provincial Institute of Education, and in 1990, it was renamed as Hubei Institute of Education. In April 2003, Hubei Provincial Industrial School was merged as a whole. In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Hubei Province, the school was restructured and renamed as Hubei Second Normal University. In January 2009, the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government decided to merge Hubei Economic Management Cadre College into our university.

Huazhong Agricultural University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and under the construction of the National "211 Project". Its predecessor was the Hubei Agricultural Affairs Academy founded by Zhang Zhidong, governor of Huguang during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, in 1898. After several evolutions, in 1952, the Lihua Chinese Academy of Agriculture was built by all departments of the College of Agriculture of Wuhan University and Hubei Agricultural College, as well as some departments of the Agricultural College of six comprehensive university, including Sun Yat sen University. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the school was directly under the Central Ministry of Higher Education, and later implemented dual leadership from the Ministry of Agriculture and Hubei Province. In 1979, it was approved by the State Council as a national key university and directly under the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1981, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, it became one of the first schools to have the right to confer doctoral and master's degrees. The school has the right to evaluate professors and doctoral supervisors. In 1985, it was renamed Huazhong Agricultural University. In 2000, it was transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture to the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education.

Wuhan University of Science and Technology
Wuhan University of Science and Technology is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, which is a "thoroughfare of nine provinces". It is a key university jointly built by the central and local governments in Hubei Province. The history of the school's education can be traced back to the Craft School established by Zhang Zhidong, the Governor General of Huguang in the late Qing Dynasty, with the approval of the Qing government in 1898. In 1999, it was renamed Wuhan University of Science and Technology. Wuhan University of Engineering
Wuhan University of Engineering was founded in June 1972, formerly known as Hubei University of Chemical and Petroleum Technology, and is under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province. In March 1980, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Wuhan Institute of Chemical Technology and renamed as the former head of the Ministry of Chemical Engineering. In July 1998, with the adjustment of the management system of universities, the school was transferred to Hubei Province for management, with the implementation of central and local co construction, with Hubei Province as the main management.
