Site Description: Wuhan University of Engineering was founded in June 1972, formerly known as Hubei University of Chemical and Petroleum Technology, and is under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province. In March 1980, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Wuhan Institute of Chemical Technology and renamed as the former head of the Ministry of Chemical Engineering. In July 1998, with the adjustment of the management system of universities, the school was transferred to Hubei Province for management, with the implementation of central and local co construction, with Hubei Province as the main management. In the same year, the school passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation by the Ministry of Education and was granted the right to confer a master's degree. In February 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Hubei Province, it was officially renamed as Wuhan University of Engineering.
