China University of Petroleum is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a key university under the national "211 Project", one of the 56 universities with graduate schools, and a key university supported by the state to carry out the construction of the "Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". China University of Petroleum (East China) is a general higher education institution jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the four major petroleum and petrochemical enterprise groups (China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, and China National Chemical Corporation), the Ministry of Education, and the People's Government of Shandong Province. The school was established in 1953 and was then known as Beijing Petroleum Institute. In 1969, it was relocated to Shandong and renamed as East China Petroleum Institute. In 1988, the school was renamed as the University of Petroleum, gradually forming a pattern of education in Shandong and Beijing. In January 2005, the school was renamed as China University of Petroleum.

Mount Taishan Medical College
Mount Taishan Medical College, formerly known as the Loude Branch of Shandong Medical College, has run its own school since 1974. In 1980, it moved from Loude to Tai'an. In 1981, it was approved by the State Council and the People's Government of Mount Taishan Province and named as "Taishan Medical College". In 1998, it was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and became a master's degree granting authority unit. In 2004, obtained the right to apply for a master's degree award from individuals with equivalent academic qualifications. Over the years, the school has taken serving economic and social development as its own responsibility, inheriting tradition, working hard, and making significant progress in various aspects such as teaching, medical treatment, scientific research, and management. Overview of Weifang Medical College: The school's predecessor was the Shandong Province Changwei Medical College, established in 1951. It was expanded to Changwei Medical College in 1958 and renamed Weifang Medical College in 1987.
