    The China Population and Development Research Center is a directly affiliated institution of the National Population and Family Planning Commission. Its predecessor was the China Population Intelligence Data Center established in May 1980 with the support of the United Nations Population Fund. It was renamed the China Population Intelligence Center in July 1986, the China Population Intelligence Research Center in January 1989, the China Population Intelligence Information Center in August 1989, and the China Population Information Research Center in July 1995, In November 2003, it was officially renamed as the China Population and Development Research Center.

  • Institute of History and Language, Academia Sinica

    This office was established in 1928. At the beginning of the year, Fu Sinian, the preparatory committee member of the Academia Sinica, proposed to Cai Yuanpei, the dean of the college, to set up an Institute of History and Language. In March, our college established the Institute of Historical Language Research at Sun Yat sen University in Guangzhou, employing Fu Sinian, Gu Jiegang, and Yang Zhensheng as executive preparatory officers. In July, it was officially established and held the position of Director of Fu Si Shi Shi Xing. On October 22nd, we moved to Baiyuan, Guangzhou and established an independent site. It was later agreed that this day would be our commemorative day.

Since its establishment in 1999, a main structure consisting of six exhibition areas has gradually formed, including the principles of all things, the story of the Earth, the mysteries of life, the mysteries of the universe, the light of technology, and the spark of civilization. It has also gathered a large amount of popular science resources such as scientific lectures, animation games, scientific images, and popular science videos. Has won numerous awards such as the "United Nations World Information Summit Award", "China Excellent Cultural Website", and "National Excellent Science Popularization Website".

  • Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Institute of Life Sciences

    Established on July 3, 1999, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Institute of Life Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese Academy of Sciences) is composed of eight life science research institutions, including the former Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, the Shanghai Institute of Cell Biology, the Shanghai Institute of Physiology, the Shanghai Institute of Brain, the Shanghai Institute of Medicine, the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology, the Shanghai Institute of Insects, and the Shanghai Research Center of Bioengineering Built through institutional innovation.   • Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

    The Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1951. Its predecessor is the Paleontology Room (Group) of the former Academia Sinica Institute of Geology and the former Central Geological Survey Institute, and it is the only professional institution engaged in paleontology (paleoinvertebrate zoology and paleobotany) and stratigraphy research in China.

  • National Science Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences

    The National Science Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was formed in March 2006 by the integration of four institutions under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, namely, the Documentation and Information Center, the Resources and Environment Science Information Center, the Chengdu Documentation and Information Center and the Wuhan Documentation and Information Center, and implemented the director responsibility system under the leadership of the Council. The main museum is located in Beijing, with three secondary legal person branches located in Lanzhou, Chengdu, and Wuhan. It also relies on several research institutes (schools) to establish characteristic branches. The museum currently has over 470 employees and a building area of 80000 square meters, providing high-speed and convenient technological information services through the internet.

  • National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

    The National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in April 2001, which was formed by the merger and consolidation of the original four observatories, three stations and one center in the field of astronomy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The National Astronomical Observatory includes the headquarters and four directly affiliated units, namely, the Yunnan Observatory of the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics Technology of the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Urumqi Astronomical Station of the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Changchun Satellite Observatory of the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Zijinshan Observatory and Shanghai Observatory will continue to retain their legal personality as directly affiliated institutions and become constituent units of the National Astronomical Observatory.
