Site Description: Xihua University is a provincial key comprehensive university approved by the Ministry of Education on April 16, 2003 and merged by the former Sichuan Institute of Technology and the former Chengdu Normal College. On September 25, 2008, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial Government and the registration of the Ministry of Education, Sichuan Economic and Management Cadre College was merged into Xihua University. The predecessor of Sichuan Institute of Technology, Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College, was established in 1960. It is one of the comprehensive agricultural machinery colleges established by the country in seven major regions to achieve agricultural mechanization. In 1978, it was listed as a provincial key engineering university by the Sichuan Provincial Government and renamed Sichuan Institute of Technology in 1983.
