Site Description: Nantong University is a provincial comprehensive university approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2004 and merged by Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Normal University. It is located in Nantong, a beautiful river city with great economic vitality in the Yangtze River Delta and the reputation of "the first city in modern China". The predecessors of Nantong Medical College and Nantong Institute of Technology were the private Nantong Medical Specialized School and Nantong Textile Specialized School, respectively. They were founded in 1912 by Mr. Zhang Jian, a famous modern industrialist, educator, and top scholar of the late Qing Dynasty. They were one of the earliest independent higher medical and textile colleges established by Chinese people
