Site Description: Huaihai Institute of Technology is a provincial-level regular undergraduate institution established by the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government in 1985 in Lianyungang City to accelerate the development of northern Jiangsu and balance the layout of universities throughout the province. In May 1998, January 2000, and August 2002, Jiangsu Salt Industry School, Lianyungang Fisheries School, and Lianyungang Chemical Engineering College were successively merged into Huaihai Institute of Technology. After more than 20 years of construction and development, Huaihai Institute of Technology has become a local university with all levels, strength, characteristics, and status in Jiangsu. The school has been successively rated as the exemplary organization of democratic management in the national education system, the civilized school in Jiangsu Province, the model of civilized units in Jiangsu Province, the exemplary organization of teaching staff construction in Jiangsu Province, the advanced university of science and technology in Jiangsu Province, the exemplary organization of social practice of college students in China, and the national greening model unit. In March 2009, the school successfully passed the evaluation of the authorized construction unit for the master's degree.
