Site Description: Hebei Institute of Architecture and Engineering was founded in August 1950, initially named Zhangjiakou Technical School, renamed as Chahar Institute of Technology in 1951, renamed as North China Institute of Technology under the leadership of the North China Administrative Committee in February 1952, and became Zhangjiakou Institute of Architecture and Engineering under the Ministry of Architecture and Engineering of the Central People's Government in May 1954. In July 1958, it was transferred to Hebei Province and renamed as Zhangjiakou Institute of Technology Zhangjiakou Construction Engineering College and Zhangjiakou Construction Engineering School. In 1978, with the approval of the State Council, it was upgraded to a regular higher education institution and named Hebei Institute of Architecture and Engineering. It is the only regular higher education institution in Hebei Province that specializes in cultivating senior technical talents in architectural engineering.
