Site Description: Fujian University of Engineering is a full-time undergraduate university organized by the People's Government of Fujian Province. In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Fujian Vocational and Technical College of Architecture and Fujian Vocational and Technical College were merged and established. The two schools were formerly known as the "Fujian High School of Engineering" before liberation, and their educational history can be traced back to the "Cangxia Jingshe" founded by the famous Fujian gentry Lin Shu and the last emperor Chen Baochen in the late Qing Dynasty in 1896. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 80000 application-oriented senior specialized technical talents, with alumni from both home and abroad. Many of them have become business and management backbones in the construction, mechanical, electronic and electrical industries. Many alumni have become celebrities and outstanding talents, including Zou Taofen, an outstanding cultural warrior, Lin Zhaoshu, the current chairman of the All China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, You Dexin, the former chairman of the CPPCC Fujian Provincial Committee, Zhao Xiuwei, and Lu Haoran, the former vice minister of the Ministry of Water and Electricity of the People's Republic of China, Wang Pingshan, the former vice governor of Guangdong Province, Lin Youkun, an academician of the American Academy of Engineering, and Chen Yijian, the chief designer of China's Flying Leopard fighter and an academician of the CAE Member, Lu Yanhao and Liu Sizhi, former members of the academic department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, are outstanding representatives of the alumni.
