Site Description: Changchun University of Science and Technology (formerly Changchun University of Optics and Precision Mechanics) is a provincial key university in Jilin Province, characterized by optoelectronic technology and advantageous in the combination of optics, mechanics, electronics, computing, and materials, with coordinated development of engineering, science, humanities, economics, management, and law. The school was founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1958. Professor Wang Daheng, a famous scientist, an academician of the CAS Member and CAE Member, is the main founder, the first president, and the current honorary president. The school has successively been affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Defense Science and Technology Commission, the Ministry of Five Machinery, the Machinery Commission, the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics, and the China National Weapons Industry Corporation; In 1999, it was transferred to Jilin Province for management and co built with the National Defense Science and Technology Commission; In 2002, it was renamed Changchun University of Science and Technology; In 2004, it was designated as a key university in Jilin Province. Currently, it is a joint university established by Jilin Province, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Changchun City.
