Chengde Ethnic Normal College is located in Chengde City, a world-renowned historical and cultural city with beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful scenery, and famous both domestically and internationally. Its predecessor was the Rehe Rapid Legal and Political School, which was established in 1907 with the approval of Emperor Guangxu and was under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. During this period, the name was changed several times. In 1915, it was renamed as Rehe Public Normal School, and in 1958, it was rebuilt as Chengde Normal College. In 1959, Tongzhou Normal College was relocated to Chengde and merged with the College. In 1960, it was upgraded to Chengde Normal College.
